Fenugreek is a plant native to the Mediterranean region, which is around 3 feet tall. From time immemorial, fenugreek has been employed in alternative medicine to treat ailments and is available today in supplement form. The powdered and seed versions are used commonly in the Indian kitchen. It is also considered an ayurvedic superfood for weight loss.
Fenugreek seeds are especially good for diabetics because they are loaded with fiber, which slows down the absorption of sugar into the bloodstream, particularly soluble fiber.
Experts believe that insulin activity benefits from consuming methi seeds since it is called an important factor in reducing weight loss and obesity in Hindi. Though not proven, methi seeds are said to reduce belly fat as well.
The component found in methi dana that activates weight loss is the water-soluble heteropolysaccharide called Galactomannan. It is known to reduce appetite and make one feel fuller,
thus suppressing hunger pangs. In this manner, methi seeds aid metabolism and digestion, both important factors to lose and maintain a healthy weight. Ayurveda doctor Ashutosh Gautam told NDTV that methi generates heat,
