Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the mouth.” ~ Mike Tyson
A bit violent of a quote for a yoga pose, I know. But man is it spot on. Not in a literal sense. But a life sense.
11 years ago. My life was on a path that felt like a dream. I was back to competing on my wakeboard, coaching and on track to land a sponsor, at 30 years old. Everything was going smooth.
Until that punch landed square on my nose.
That punch. Left me Broke. No income insight. And those dreams from a few years earlier, drifting away, swiftly.
At that time, my ego became crushed and out of the picture. And with my back against the wall. I became open. Right when the universe would lay my path, out before me.
This thing I’m doing. Called yoga. Became my freedom. It replaced my love for floating through the air on a wakeboard. The board I am floating upon allowed me to teach and work in the watersports industry, in a different capacity.
Forever changing my life.
I wanted to share this story, not to brag or say hey look at me. But rather to show us that, during the darkest of the days. There is a bit of brightness.
If we are willing to see it.
Right now, it is damn hard to see. Life as we know it, forever changed. And is scary, really scary. It is ok to feel that way. In time we will accept that for what it is. Then, we will begin to see, other opportunities are available.
There is no rush. Or a right or wrong way to get there.
The biggest tip I can provided.
Your life. Is just that, yours. There is something out there that is calling you. And only you know what that is. No self help book will get you there. Or trying to follow the path of someone else. You control this. And when ready, will right the ship for you. And those you love.
