The federal education minister told The Express Tribune that coronavirus is now under control and the situation is improving rapidly.
“Now, students will not be put in any new exam, nor will there be smart or short syllabus, nor will there be only exams of optional subjects, but with full syllabus there will be exams of all subjects including compulsory and optional ones,” he said.
To a question, he said that the recent inter-provincial education conference in Karachi had taken into account all the aspects related to the conduct of academic sessions, syllabuses and examinations and it was decided that the secondary and inter-annual examinations would be held in May and June 2022.
“The Ministry of Education and the boards of all the provinces will abide by it 100%.”
After this announcement, it is also known from the government sources that Class X exams will start in
May 2022, at the end of which the Class IX exams will begin.
The annual intermediate annual examinations will be held in June, the results of which will be released in the last week of August and the second week of September.
While instructions have been issued to all the boards in this regard – each board will issue a regular written schedule in December 2021 for annual matric examinations in May 2022 and intermediate in June 2022.
Meanwhile, addressing a ceremony at Child Protection and Welfare Bureau (CPWB) on the occasion of ‘World Children’s Day’, Mahmood said the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is very much committed about the children’s future and giving top priority to protect their rights.
Provincial Minister for Health Dr Yasmin Rashid, Punjab Minister for Human Rights and Minorities Affairs Ejaz Alam Augustine, SACM Hassan Khawar, CPWB Chairperson Sarah Ahmed and others were present.
The federal minister said that education, health and security were the basic rights of every child and responsibility of the state.
