Yesterday was Sunday, and as usual, my husband had a day off from work.
On Saturday night, he surprised me by saying, “I’ll handle all the housework for you tomorrow.” Honestly, I didn’t believe him.
But Sunday morning came, and he kept his word. He cleaned the house, washed the dishes, did the laundry, and even dried the clothes.
When I woke up, he handed me a cup of coffee. It felt like I was dreaming.
I headed to the kitchen, but he stopped me at the door. “Today, I’ll cook for myself,” he said. I was shocked because he’s never really cooked before.
Later, he made my favorite chicken pasta after watching a recipe on YouTube, and it turned out surprisingly good!
In the afternoon, he tried his hand at mutton biryani. Though it was a little salty, it was his first time, and the love behind it meant so much more than the taste.
He works six days a week and only gets Sundays off.
But he said, “Even on my day off, women don’t get a break from housework. So, I thought I could help you on Sundays.”
