Use Trip Advisor before you decide on where to stay. Trip Advisor is a great resource and has some fantastic reviews from visitors which can give you some real world insight.
It’s a bit of an odd tip, but I would advise for any off the beaten track location to check the specialty hotel reviews as well as standard hotels. Trip Advisor, like so many other websites is not really set up for off the beaten track vacations.
So much of the accommodation within Trujillo seems to be stuck under specialty hotels, with no real explanation why. This may have changed by the time you read this article, so my advice is to check both search options!
Fly to Le Ceiba airport. If you have the option from your city of origin I would fly to Le Ceiba airport. This is around 2-3 hours from Trujillo and it’s a pretty easy drive. The second choice is to fly into San Pedro Sula. transportation routes.
