Husband was going to another city for two days

By | March 29, 2023

Assalaamu alaykum. I wish that you understand my situation well. My husband works out of the city where I live and only comes to see me during the weekends. We got married more than two years ago, but if I count the days that we have been together, it is not even a year. We still have not been blessed with a baby. All the other women in my neighbourhood live happily with their husbands, so I always feel lonely. Sometimes, myy husband does not eve come for the weekend,

so I am totally frustrated and cannot concentrate on my works. Given that I am a teacher, I feel guilty for this. I do not like to talk with him on the phone. I read that Prophet muhammed, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, kept all his wives near his masjid. I have talked to him about this several times, but he does not give that much consideration to my words although he is eager to follow the Sunnah and treats me nicely. I just want to be with him. Please help me with the guidance of the Quran and the Sunnah.

All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah and that Muhammad  sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention )

 is His slave and Messenger.

Marriage has great Islamic objectives as it is a comfort for the soul, preserves chastity, and is a means for increasing the number of offspring, and it has other objectives as well.

When the couple resides together, this helps them to achieve these objectives and perfect them, but if the spouses reside far away from each other, this may lead to missing some of these objectives.

Husband was going to another city for two days

Therefore, it is much better, whenever possible, that the married couple stay together in the same city. The husband should try his best to reside with his wife, as this is better for them both.

We advise you to continue to try to reach an understanding with your husband regarding this matter and to seek the help of whomever you think could influence him. It is hoped that he would respond, Allah willing, especially given that you mentioned his eagerness to follow the Sunnah and his good treatment to you.
