A question coming into the inbox

By | August 21, 2022

An inbox is a repository in an email application that accepts incoming messages. Email programs may offer multiple inboxes into which it filters new messages after analyzing their content (see Gmail tabs and Clutter). An “outbox” is where outgoing messages are placed. Inboxes and outboxes function somewhat like folders but are not treated as such in the computer. They are generally consolidated into a database that can only be manipulated from within the mail application. See email.
