The encouragement to seek children covers both sons and daughters, and along with this general encouragement Islam has given special merits to seeking and bringing up girls – contrary to the thinking of the people of ignorance of the past and present, since the people of ignorance – wherever and whenever found – hated (some of them ‘still do’) to have daughters and were grieved and angered by their births!
Imam Sadeq A.S said:
“What good offspring are the girls! For they are kind, obedient, sympathetic and having blessing with them.”
Path to Jannah:
Daughters are without doubt a great blessing from Almighty Allah. They are a means of salvation and a path to Jannah for their parents.
“Whoever has three daughters or sisters, or two daughters of two sisters, and lives along with them in a good manner, and has patience with them, and fears Allah with regard to them will enter Paradise.” [Abu Dawud, Al-Tirmidhi]
The key to success for any woman is to live life according to God’s guidance. This guidance is contained in the Qur’an and the traditions of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). Today it is the turn of daughters. Daughters can hold great sway over their beloved fathers. You might have heard the expression, “she twists her daddy around her little finger”, meaning that the daughter is able to persuade her father easily.
