Sending greetings to Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) is one of the most honourable acts of worship. When you do that rewards are written, sins are pardoned, and a person’s rank is raised.

“Whoever sends Salah upon me once, Allah would send Salah upon him tenfold, erase 10 sins from him, and raise him ten degrees in rank,” Allah’s Messenger (saw) declared.

[Narrated by Nasai #1297 V.3 Pg.50]

“On the Day of Judgement, the person closest to me is the one who sent the greatest Salat upon me,” Allah’s Messenger (saw) remarked. [Tirmithi #484 narrated it and claimed it was sound (hasan gharib)]

The Messenger of Allah (saw) stated about salat and durood, especially on Fridays:

“Friday is one of your best days. It was on it that Adam was made, and it was on it that his (soul) was taken, and it is on it that the Trumpet blows, and it is on it that the Swoon is. As a result, enhance the frequency with which you send your Salat to me, because your Salat to me are given to me.” “O Messenger of Allah!” they exclaimed. And how will our Salat be delivered to you when you have passed away?” “Indeed, Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, has forbidden the earth from (destruction) the bodies of the Prophets,” he said. [Ibn Khuzaimah #1733 and Ibn Hibban #910 in their separate Saheehs, and Hakim in Mustadrak 1/278 He added, It is authentic on the conditions of Bukhari and Zahabi agreed.]

“I love to send plenty of salat upon the Messenger of Allah ( ﷺ) all the time, and I enjoy it even more on the day of Jumuah,” Imam Shafe’e used to say based on this. [Kitabul Umm 1/546]
