Two of the more interesting lots at the auction were the Minis that were included in our preview. Both achieved strong prices with the 1967 Mk1 Countryman (above) selling for above its estimate at £15,120, while the 1960 Morris Mini (below) matched its upper estimate of £9000.
Meanwhile, a 1990 Jaguar XJ-S (below) that was re-engineered by KWE went under its lower estimate for £7480 and a 1978 V12 sold for £5824.
The event recorded a 60% sale rate with cars including a 1966 Jaguar E-type (£26,656), a ’66 Ford Mustang (£15,120), a 1984 VW beach buggy (£3808) and a 1970 MG Midget (£5824) all finding new homes.
Nick Whale, managing director at Silverstone Auctions, said: “The £91,000 (raised over the two Pride & Joy sales) exceeded all of our wildest expectations and wouldn’t have been possible without the enthusiastic participation of both CarFest audiences and some very generous charity lot entries. These auctions will definitely live long in the memory of all those who took part.”
