A shop owner and his employee gunned down and another injured for resisting a robbery bid in New Karachi on Thursday.The incident took place in Sector 11-G within the precincts of the New Karachi Industrial Area police station. Following the incident, police and Rangers reached the site and collected the evidences. Police officials said three people were injured when at least six armed men,
riding three motorcycles entered a cold drink wholesale shop and opened indiscriminate fire over putting up resistance to a robber bid. The armed assailants later managed to escape after committing the crime.
They were shifted to a nearby hospital where 50-year-old Ilyas Yousuf and 60-year-old Ilyas Abdullah succumbed to their injuries while 45-year-old Iqbal Abdullah was still admitted to the hospital.
The police said the deceased and the injured were brothers and the other deceased person was their relative.According to DSP Irshad Bhutto, the police seized nine empty cartridges from a 9mm pistol and one empty shell of a 30bore pistol from the scene. The empties had been sent to the forensic division of Sindh police for ballistics cross-matching.
